Viðburður: Varðmenn gegn netvættum - styrkjum skjaldborgina!

Rannís, Eyvör (NCC-IS) og Miðstöð Stafrænnar Nýsköpunar (EDIH-IS) bjóða á viðburðinn „Varðmenn gegn netvættum – Styrkjum skjaldborgina!“ mánudaginn 17. febrúar í Fenjamýri, Grósku.
Á viðburðinum verður fjallað um netöryggisstyrk Eyvarar og hvernig hann geti nýst fyrirtækjum og opinberum aðilum. Þá munu gestir heyra reynslusögur um árangursríkar netöryggislausnir og hvernig styrkurinn hefur nú þegar nýst styrkþegum t.d. í nýsköpunargeiranum.
Salurinn opnar kl. 11:45 og hefst fundurinn kl. 12:00.

Dagskrá:
- Eyjólfur Eyfells, sérfræðingur hjá Rannís og umsjónarmaður netöryggisstyrks Eyvarar, mun segja í stuttu máli frá tilkomu netöryggisstyrks Eyvarar og hvað hafa ber í huga þegar sótt erum um styrkinn.
- Theodór Ragnar Gíslason, stofnandi og framkvæmdastjóri Defend Iceland og formaður fagráðs netöryggisstyrks, mun fjalla um helstu ógnir sem við stöndum frammi fyrir og hugmyndir að netöryggislausnum sem hægt er að sækja um styrk fyrir.
- Tinna Harðardóttir, upplýsingatæknistjóri Innnes og meðlimur í fagráði netöryggisstyrks, mun fjalla um þær aðferðir og netöryggislausnir sem innleiddar eru hjá Innnes og hafa reynst árangursríkar.
- Bjarki Guðmundsson, aðstoðarmaður framkvæmdastjóra hjá Evolv Robotics og verkefnastjóri netöryggisvegferðar Evolv, mun fjalla um hvernig netöryggisstyrkurinn nýtist ört vaxandi sprotafyrirtæki en Evolv Robotics er sprotafyrirtæki sem sérhæfir sig í sjálfvirknivæðingu og hlaut netöryggisstyrk sl. haust.

In the autumn of 2025 Reykjavik University will, for the first time, offer a master’s programme in artificial intelligence at RU’s Department of Computer Science. Although RU has for years been a leader in AI education and research, this is a study line and an addition to the existing graduate programs currently taught within the department. The master’s program in AI is designed to provide students with a deep understanding and skillset in developing, training, and applying artificial intelligence for a wide range of purposes. In addition, students will be introduced to the ethical challenges associated with the development and use of AI and will learn how to approach these challenges in a responsible manner. "It is really important that ambitious and forward-thinking graduate studies are available in Iceland. By strengthening expertise in AI, we enhance the country's international competitiveness and increase opportunities for innovation domestically. With this new master's program in artificial intelligence, we at RU are doing our part to help prepare society for the future,” says Henning Arnór Úlfarsson, Chair of the Department of Computer Science at Reykjavik University. Alongside this new study line, a new scholarship has also been established for the AI master’s program, with a focus on language technology: MSc in Artificial Intelligence with an emphasis on Language Technology (AILT). The scholarship is named after the late Baldur Jónsson, professor of Icelandic studies, who led the first language technology project carried out in Iceland. This year marks 50 years since the results of that project were published in the work “Tíðni orða í Hreiðrinu: tilraunaverkefni í máltölvun” in 1975. As a result, Icelandic language technology celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The scholarship amount is equivalent to the tuition fees of master's students and is granted for one academic year at a time. It will be renewed for the second year of study if the recipient demonstrates strong academic performance.
