/
Very Well attended event, thanks to everyone that participated!
European Digital Innovation Hub in Iceland, Rannís and Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) in Iceland hosted the event. This was the first EDIH lunch meeting that will be held monthly on various EDIH topics. The name of the event was "How to find investors?" where three experts on the topic spoke.
Ásthildur Otharsdóttir, investment manager and partner at Frumtak Ventures, Ragnheiður H. Magnúsdóttir, founder and investor at Nordic Ignite and Davíð Símonarson CEO and co-founder at Smitten.
Sigþrúður Guðnadóttir and Kolfinna Tómasdóttir specialists at Rannís and project managers at EDIH and EEN in Iceland welcomed guests and introduced EDIH in Iceland and EEN. Next on stage was Ásthildur Otharsdóttir, she introduced the investor process in Iceland, both from the investors and the fund seeking perspective. She talked about so-called index funds and what to keep in mind when looking for index funds. Ragnheiður also had a very good contribution from the perspective of investors. It invests in start-up companies in the early stages, so-called angel investments. She explained what angel investments are, how we find such investors, how to best approach them and what angel investors are most looking for when they invest. Then Davíð came on stage, but he has considerable experience with the application process and having to look for funding. He is very interested in human relations and people's behavior. He has managed to combine his hobby with his work and has achieved the success of getting two billion to develop a dating app.
The program ended with lively discussions and questions from the audience, and it was obvious that the guests thought it was great to get inspiration and insight from these three experienced players. We thank them very much for a great message. The hall in Gróska was packed and it is clear that the interest is there. We thank you for your participation and look forward to seeing you all at the next educational sessions.
