Major ISK 1.4 billion project to strengthen Iceland’s AI infrastructure

/

A major step has been taken to strengthen Iceland’s artificial intelligence infrastructure through a new ISK 1.4 billion collaborative project led by Almannarómur in partnership with the University of Iceland, Reykjavík University, University of Iceland Science Park, the Icelandic Meteorological Office, and the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies.

A national center for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) will be established in Iceland, providing access to computing power, AI software, datasets, and expert consultation for the development, training, and testing of new AI solutions.

EDIH-IS celebrates this milestone, which aligns with our mission to accelerate digital transformation and support companies and public institutions in adopting cutting-edge technologies.
